“Before the beginning there was nothing. No earth, no heavens, no stars, no sky. Only the mist world, formless and shapeless, and the fire world, always burning.“
If you’re into Norse Gods or Mythology then this book is definitely the one for you! An Avenger fan? Or have you played of God of War and just dying to know more about it? Well look no further! This book is really all in the title and is perfect for even the most amateur to Mythology.
As a lover of all things myths I couldn’t help but pick this one up once I saw it, and i’m pleased to announce that it definitely didn’t disappoint. Each tale is suspenseful and exciting from the first to the last. I read this book in two days (and for me, that’s fast.)
Neil Gaiman’s is an incredible author and with this book he offers you an incredible insight to the world of the Norse Gods, springing you into the seat-edging tales of famous names such as Loki, Thor and Odin. Who wouldn’t get excited just hearing those names? It is a classic re-telling of the survival stories endured by the Norse Gods. Gaiman picks the most important stories, from the theft of Thor’s Hammer, Mjolnir, to the devastating end of Ragnarök. Throughout the stories you can hear Gaiman’s enthusiasm which just gets you as excited reading it as he did writing it.
Humorous, educational and all around a great read. Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman is very deserving of 5 stars.
